November Updates

Hello Neighbors,

I hope everyone is doing well as we seem to finally be transitioning into the beautiful Arizona winter months!  It has been a busy year for the Board in this community but pieces are coming together to help ensure the long term safety and appeal of our properties.  Our (3) main focus areas in the community are the block walls, the landscape, and the lake.  We continue to improve efficiencies and create a long term plan as our community surpasses 20 years!  Thank you all for taking pride in your ownership so we can make The Oasis the best it can be!

Lost Keys

LostKeys

We have a set of keys that was found around the Southwest resting area of the lake.  Kinney Management has they keys in their position so if you are the rightful owner please contact info@oasisatanozira.org with your name and contact information so Kinney Management may respond and return your lost property.  Thank you to the good neighbor for handing them in!

Fireplace Cleaning/Chimney Sweeps

Some of the homes in the community have a real fireplace/chimney.  It is recommended to have your chimney inspected at least once a year to determine if cleaning is necessary.  If it has been a long time since you have had an inspection or cleaning it is strongly recommended that you do so as we enter the winter months of Arizona.  The longer span of time between cleanings creates more buildup on the chimney walls which can create odors for your neighbors when you decide to light it up again.  Keep your home investment protected by taking proper maintenance steps for all areas of your household.

Trees/Landscape

We are working with a tree removal/pruning contractor to develop a long term plan for the community.  Many of our mature trees along the community walls are getting very large and as they are great for aesthetics, shade, community establishment, they start to have or will potentially have an impact on the block walls that are within feet in many areas.  We are working on developing a long term pruning and maintenance plan that would inventory the trees in the community and start a process of strategically removing trees that are having an impact on block walls and replacing them in a way that keeps a variety of small, medium, and large trees throughout the community.  Keep in mind this is a 5-10+ year outlook of implementing this plan.

We are also working on seeing what planting is necessary along the east wall of the community that faces the Discovery Park campus so we can create a nice landscape barrier to the neighboring property.

Lake

We are currently speaking with a new vendor to take over the lake management.  The vendor being considered currently oversees “The Lakes” community in Tempe among other large and small bodies of water around the valley.  Our hope here is to once again create a short and long term plan with proper monitoring so we can properly budget for items that may be necessary 5, 10, or 20+ years down the road.

Final Thoughts

I just want to thank our board members for all of their hard work and efforts in making this community better.  These people are spending many hours of their time for the betterment of all of us.  The decisions that are being made have continued to make positive short and long term impacts on the community and they are not taken lightly.  As homeowners you are always welcome to attend the monthly meetings if you have any questions or suggestions.

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

LOVE THE IDEA OF THE OASIS PLANTING ALONG THE EAST WALL TO ATTEMPT TO BLOCK OUT AS MUCH OF THE HUGE SHUTTER FLY INDUSTRIAL PLANT AS POSSIBLE.
PLEASE PLANT A LOT OF LARGE TREES!
