Hello Neighbors,
As usual the plate has been full of items to keep this neighborhood looking sharp and long lasting for years to come. The board is continuing to make progress toward the goal of getting things in an efficient working order so that most things have a standard procedure and can be dealt with accordingly. This past year has had a lot of changes but in the long term this neighborhood will benefit greatly for the steps taken today. Don’t forget for all of the people with jobs communicating across country they will all be changing their clocks this weekend!
Many of you have probably noticed that there has been some activity at the Pump House along Anozira. This has been a project in the works for some time working with the city permitting team and getting the Pump House up to electrical code and a small addition for some extra storage. The start of the electrical has commenced and the slab of concrete with proper footers has been poured today. We anticipate another 3-5 weeks for completion on this project. When all said and done we will have a current, up to code, permitted project that should last for years to come.
It is that time of year. Please walk your property or hire professional help and get your weeds sprayed, tilled, or removed! With all of the rain we have seen a large number of properties with out of control weeds. Please make sure to do your part in keeping up the appeal of the community and take care of business!!!!
We have had some inquiries/concerns about Shutterfly lately involving the colors of the building not matching earth tones. This is not something that we would have any jurisdiction on but either through the City of Tempe or we could have the property manager reach out to you if you have additional concerns.
With some requests from some Easy Wall homeowners and some discussions with Wentworth Properties we are going to review some placement of new trees along the East Wall this weekend for some planting in the upcoming months.
Thanks to our Board connection with the Sea Cadets/Boy Scout relationships we did our annual weed cutting of the brush along the canal wall. This will start being part of a routine to make sure that area looks clean and stays maintained.
In continued efforts to better allocate our budget and anticipate future needs this spring we will be using our new lake management company, Aquatic Consulting, out of Tempe to do a new Lake reserve study to better understand if/what may need to happen with the lake in the next 1, 5, 10, 20 years.
I have stated this numerous times lately as our reserves are healthy for this community but they are “healthy for what we know.” This years focus is truly to define a short and long term budget allocation and proper anticipation for future needs. Along with this will be a set of procedures or playbook for the community so that all areas are being addressed in a proactive versus reactive manner.
Hope you enjoyed the updates, I’m sure I’ve missed something but I’ll be sure to add it next time! Have a great one neighbors!
Thanks,
Jake Ulrich

I know that we are considering adding trees along the outer circle along Anozira Parkway but I would like to suggest that rather than put time, energy, and monies into trees that create issues with walls that we instead beef up the trees along the lake that would supply much needed shade. We have lost over 13 trees in the past few years. Also, what ever happened to the additional lighting that we was to be installed when Ed was president. We have some very dark spots where an incident is just waiting to happen.
Currently we are not considering many trees for the Anozira Parkway loop. We are looking at the outer east wall facing the Discovery Business Campus and trees around the lake. As far as the lighting issue, I’m not sure where you are referencing to add more light. The light poles around the lake are installed/maintained by SRP and the lights around the streets are controlled by the City of Tempe??
Can you tell me the date when the next community yard sale will be?
